We often make passwords or keys for different software’s and sometimes we can forget some of them and in some case the passwords can be recovered and in some it cant be. Today I am talking about one such case i.e. when you are trying to add your computer or laptop to a wireless network and you don’t know the network security key for that wireless network. But now you don’t have to worry because today I am going to tell you the steps to retrieve the network security key from Windows 7. Like the earlier versions of Windows, Windows 7 also remembers the network security key for the connection every time you connect to a wireless network(Wi-Fi) supported by WEP, WPA or WPA2 and you don’t have to ask for it. As a result windows will automatically sign in to the Wi-Fi network when it starts up.
Today I will tell you the steps to recover the network security key for your wireless connection that is added in your computer. In Windows 7 unlike other windows you can easily view your network security key on the screen in the form of plain text. Since the network security key will appear in the form of plain text be careful when you are doing this so that no else is around you who can see this network security key.
The first step for this is to click on the Start button and then select the control panel option from the start menu.
After you will click on the Control Panel option a window will open in which the icons are shown by Category. Select the Network and Internet option from this window. In case the icons are categorized either by Small icons or Large icons then there will be more number of option and in that case also you will have to select the Network and Internet option.
After choosing the Network and Internet option another window for you. In this new window you will have to select the Network and Sharing Center
